03:34:07petertodd:Can anyone think of any examples where a blockchain has been rewritten - or proprosed to be rewritten - by community consensus following a loss? I'm sure I remeember at least one proof-of-stake coin considering that, and there were proposals re: MtGox as well, but the details are eluding my googlefu.

10:13:29runeks:When I look at the scriptSig and scriptPubKey of a transaction on blockchain.info, are the "push" opcodes omitted? "Push" opcodes being these: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Script#Constants
10:13:55sipa:sb end
10:14:34sipa:runeks: i think they are just pretty printed as the data being pushed
10:14:45sipa:bitcoin core does the same afaik
10:15:02sipa:the normal pushes are not considered "opcodes", just data
10:17:57runeks:sipa: ok, I see. So the serialization of such a script would contain an opcode before the actual data, eg. the 0x01 through 0x4b opcodes, if no more than 0x4b bytes are pushed onto onto the stack?
10:18:42sipa:indeed
10:19:29runeks:sipa: cool! Makes more sense now :)

16:52:40lmatteis:does anybody know of a general p2p mailing list that is fairley active?
17:03:07kanzure:p2p-hackers
17:03:13kanzure:p2pfoundation
17:03:16kanzure:ask michel bauwens
17:05:21lmatteis:kanzure: http://lists.zooko.com/pipermail/p2p-hackers/ - seems kinda dead
17:07:22lmatteis:and https://lists.ourproject.org/pipermail/p2p-foundation/2015-April/thread.html doesn't seem tech related
17:08:41sipa:well, p2p is a very wide concept
17:09:41lmatteis:sipa: true
17:14:20kanzure:lmatteis: bug zooko about that
17:14:27kanzure:.tell zooko your mailing list is dead according to lmatteis
17:14:27yoleaux:kanzure: I'll pass your message to zooko.
17:14:37lmatteis::)
17:15:28sipa:almost like asking "is there a general transistors mailing list?"
17:15:51sipa:you're very unlikely to be interested in all their applications
17:15:58lmatteis:or "is there a client-server mailing list?"
17:16:31lmatteis:* lmatteis googles for "client-server mailing list" :D
17:16:33kanzure:there is a transistors mailing list, it's called piclist
17:16:56kanzure:for client-server i would either bug or blame one of the ietf mailing lists
17:17:22kanzure:piclist or memstalk
17:17:29lmatteis:there's a p2p conference in the academics
17:17:48lmatteis:which i think is getting traction; not sure how well is rated
17:18:27lmatteis:so perhaps p2p is a "closer" community than one may think
